Unicenter, the Argentine shopping center of the retail company Cencosud, surprised December visitors with an augmented reality action to celebrate Christmas.The proposal was carried out by the digital agency Wiper and CamOnApp, the company specialized in immersive technologies.
The Argentine mall, Unicenter Shopping, has its own active App available for free in Google Play/Apple Store, through which it shares information, news and current promotions with customers. To continue innovating with proposals that deepens the relationship of consumers with the brand, they decided to carry out a Christmas campaign that combined this digital channel with the physical space of the shopping through augmented reality experiences.
The first thing done was the identification of the areas that were under construction and remodeling inside the shopping center. Since these zones have high concentration of people, were great opportunities to communicate and expand campaign´s visibility. The spaces were branded with posters and graphics that visitors can scan with their smartphone and experience the augmented reality content with Christmas thematic.
CamOnApp team expert in design, 3D and animation, created exclusive interactive characters for the brand: elves, bears and goblins, decorated the mall corridors and invited the public to take photos and share them in social media. In addition, users of Unicenter app could participate for great prizes by registering in the daily draws of the campaign.
These technological solutions are made by integrating to the existing app of the brand the SDK (Software Development Kit) developed by CamOnApp and using the latest features of Apple and Google ARKit / ARCore to create the best interactive experiences.
Carrying out augmented reality initiatives allows to large entities such as Unicenter, to open new channel of interaction with their consumers and also establish new touch points to build brand loyalty.
